FP Lucas Roundabout Sept 2025 construction

F. P. LUCAS BOULEVARD – McKenzie Road to E. Cartwright Road

What: Existing two-lane asphalt road will be replaced with a new four-lane divided concrete road. The project includes new water and sewer utilities along with a new multi-use trail, a new bridge section, and a new traffic signal at Jaguar Way.

When: Installation of water and sewer utilities are 98% complete, the multi-use trail is 80% complete, the northbound bridge is 100% complete, and the southbound bridge is 35% complete. Concrete road construction from McKenzie Road to Cartwright Road northbound is 100% complete after traffic was switched in August, and construction from Cartwright to McKenzie southbound is 90% complete. The project is expected to be complete in Fall 2025.

 

SOUTH PARKWAY – U.S. 80 to Peachtree Road (Real. Texas. Roads. project*)

What: Reconstruction of new water and sewer utilities and new concrete reconstruction of a two-lane residential street. Sections of the road will be closed during different phases of construction. Residents will have alley access to their homes.

When: Installation of water and sewer utilities and the multi-use trail is 100% complete. The new travel lane concrete paving is 100% complete and all lanes are opened. A combination of sodding and hydromulch was 100% complete in August to restore disturbed landscape areas. The project is substantially complete at 98% and ready for final city inspections of construction in September 2025.

 

Sybil Drive Sept 2025 construction

LORRAINE LANE, CANDISE COURT, IVY DRIVE – (Real. Texas. Roads. project*)

What: New water and sewer utility reconstruction and new concrete roads and sidewalks for sections of Lorraine Lane, Candise Court, Ivy Drive, Mt. Vernon Drive, Fernwood Drive, Monticello Drive, and the Stoney Glen neighborhood. 
When: Construction started on utilities in late February 2025. Sewer line replacement work on Lorraine Ln is 100% complete, with the Ivy Dr sewer and water line replacement 100% complete. Sewer line replacement work on Mt. Vernon and Monticello Drive is 100% complete, with water line replacement 95% complete. Paving on Lorraine Lane and Candise Court is 100% complete, Sybil Drive paving is 95% complete with travel lanes open, and Mt. Vernon Drive paving is 30% complete with full completion in September. Monticello Drive paving is estimated to begin in September. Construction will gradually move to the remaining streets of Fernwood Drive and the Stoney Glen neighborhood. The project is expected to be complete by Spring 2026.

Sierra Sept 2025 construction 

SIERRA DRIVE, WILKINSON DRIVE, PAZA DRIVE, MIRANDA DRIVE – (Real. Texas. Roads. project*)
What: New water and sewer utility construction and reconstruction of asphalt streets for sections of
 Sierra Drive, Wilkinson Drive, and Paza Drive. Miranda Drive will also include new sections of pavement replacement, driveway aprons, and sidewalks.

When: The construction is estimated to begin in September 2025, with water and sewer utility construction occurring first followed by reconstruction of asphalt streets. The project is expected to be complete in Spring 2026.

 

Walker-Tripp-Mariposa Sept 2025 construction

SOUTH WALKER STREET, TRIPP ROAD, MARIPOSA DRIVE
What: Reconstruction of asphalt streets for South Walker Street from Davis Street to New Market Road, and Tripp Road from Franklin Drive to US 80 Frontage Road.
 The City of Mesquite’s Streets Division will be working on Tripp Road from N. Galloway Avenue to Franklin Drive separate from the contractor. Mariposa Drive will also include new sections of pavement replacement from Franklin Drive to US 80 Frontage Road. Additional improvements include reflective pavement markings and the replacement of a new guardrail towards New Market Road.

When: The bid for this project was awarded by the City Council on July 21, 2025. The construction is estimated to begin in late September and is expected to be complete in Spring 2026.


Alleys-Sea Pines and Greenland Sept 2025 construction 

ALLEY RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT – Multiple Locations

What: Reconstruction of new concrete alleys at 12 different locations as follows:

Bette Drive – Windsor Court

Binbrook Drive – Colchester Drive

Falls Church Lane – Portsmouth Drive

Hardwood Trail – Button Drive

Debra Drive – Michelle Way (Kearney to Grubb)

Thistle Drive – Paintbrush Street

Leta Way – Greenland Drive

Sea Pines – Greenland Drive

Apollo Way – Gus Thomasson Road

Versailles Street – Royal Crest Drive

Jade Drive – Emerald Drive

Grinnel Drive – Teton Drive

When: The construction began in August and started first on Leta Way – Greenland Drive and the Sea Pines – Greenland Drive concrete alleys. Leta Way is 60% complete and Sea Pines is 25% complete, with full completion expected early September 2025. Construction will gradually move to the rest of the alleys after each one is fully complete. The project is expected to be complete in Spring 2026.


Bodine Street Sept 2025 construction 

IN-HOUSE STREET DIVISON ROAD MAINTENANCE

What: Roadway maintenance of asphalt streets that were recently completed in August and early September:

Bodine Street, from W. College Street to W. Gross Street

Westwood Avenue, from Mariposa Drive to dead end

Edinburg Street, from Mariposa Drive to dead end

Tripp Road, from N. Galloway Avenue to Franklin Drive

Nehrmeyer Street, from Franklin Drive to dead end

When: The next asphalt streets scheduled for roadway maintenance in September are Calle Hanby from Camino Drive to Lindo Drive, and Calle Williams from Camino Drive to Lindo Drive.

 

What: Roadway maintenance of concrete streets and concrete panel replacements on sections of Barnes Bridge Road from the city limits of Mesquite to N. Galloway Avenue.

When: Concrete street maintenance and panel replacements on Barnes Bridge Road are estimated to be complete in September 2025.
