City Council

The City Council consists of the Mayor and six Councilmembers, all of whom are elected to serve two-year terms. The Mayor is elected at large; Council positions have residency requirements. Elections are held in November.

Mesquite’s elected officials are responsible for appointing the city health officer, independent auditor, municipal judge, city manager, city attorney, city secretary, and members of various boards and commissions.

Meeting Information

City Council meetings are every first and third Mondays at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Meetings are open to the public. If a holiday falls on a Monday, the meeting is moved to Tuesday night of that same week.
