    Are you a local author or an avid reader interested in finding books by authors from the North Texas area? The Mesquite Main Library is hosting the 2nd annual Mesquite Authors Fair on Saturday, May 6th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. If you are a local author interested in featuring your work, please pick up an application at the Main Library, located at 300 West Grubb Drive. Table space is limited, and only applications turned in to the Main Library by 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1st will be considered.   5. Preschool Storytime

    March 28, 2017, 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Mesquite Main and North Branch Library

    This program is recommended for children 3 to 5 years old. There is a mix of songs, rhymes, finger plays, and books. However, there is a greater emphasis on books, on longer stories with more challenging content, and on independent participation by the kids Children will be introduced to group participation, and caregivers will learn some songs and rhymes to share with their children at home. This program is an opportunity for children to mature socially and developmentally in preparation for school. Program length: approx. 30 minutes.

  1. Guts and Glory Obstacle Fun Run

    March 25, 2017, 8:00 AM @ Travis Williams Athletic Complex

    This run is a non-competitive, non-timed event. The course will have obstacles along the way. The Kid Run is open to children ages 3 to 12 years old and is a shorter version of the full fun run. Runners 42 inches and taller may participate in the Fun Run; children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
