Town Hall Tuesdays
The City of Mesquite's Town Hall Tuesday program was initiated in 2016 in an effort to educate and engage citizens. Every Town Hall Tuesday features a new topic and includes activities to interact with City staff. All Town Hall Tuesdays are held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Avenue.
2023 Town Hall Tuesdays
- July 18, 2023 Budget Process. Attendees will learn about the City's current budget and plans for next year's budget. Presentations will include details on City programs and services, as well as the results of the budget survey that was recently completed by the public.
- May 9, 2023 - Bilingual. The City of Mesquite will host its first Spanish-language town hall meeting. Representatives from departments including Neighborhood Services, Animal Services, Code Enforcement, Public Works and Communications will give an overview of their services and resources available to residents. This will include a question-and-answer session.
- Mayo 9, 2023- La ciudad de Mesquite tendrá su primera reunión del ayuntamiento en español. Los representantes de los departamentos, incluidos Servicios Vecinales, Servicios para Animales, Aplicación de Códigos, Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones, darán una visión general de sus servicios y recursos disponibles para los residentes. Esto incluirá una sesión de preguntas y respuestas.
- March 28, 2023 - Communications. Learn about the City of Mesquite's new initiatives to communicate with the whole community. The communications department will discuss their role and services, and what's coming to help residents get the information they need, when they need it, in the most engaging way possible.
- January 10, 2023 - Public Safety. Attendees can learn about crime initiatives and crime prevention programs presented by Mesquite Police Department.
2022 Town Hall Tuesdays- November 15, 2022 - Economic Development. Learn about the services through Economic Development department which benefits the community by facilitating commercial investment and tourism revenue. Attendees will gain insight into upcoming projects in a site assessment exercise from the decision-makers perspective.
- September 13, 2022 - Emergency Preparedness. Attendees can learn about Emergency Preparedness and how to properly prepare for a natural disaster. Learn how to prepare for an emergency that can protect your life and the lives of those around you.
- July 19, 2022 - Budget Process. The City of Mesquite is hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday, July 19, at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave in Training Rooms A & B, beginning at 7 p.m. to provide an update on the City’s current budget and plans for next year’s budget. Presentations will include details on City programs and services, as well as the results of the budget survey that was recently completed by the public.
2021 Town Hall Tuesdays
- October 12, 2021 - Solid Waste: Attendees can learn about the Solid Waste Ordinance changes that were put into place to address litter and community appearance. The meeting will provide solid waste customers the opportunity to ask City staff questions regarding the requirements to place trash in a trash bag, place the trash bag in a trash can as well as limits on when trash and bulk items can be set out for pick up. 2020 Town Hall Tuesdays
- July 14, 2020 - City Budget: Attendees can learn about the City of Mesquite budget and operations, and have the opportunity to offer input as the City Council prepares for their annual budget retreat to plan the Fiscal Year 2020 budget. 2019 Town Hall Tuesdays
- July 16, 2019 - City Budget: Attendees can learn about the City of Mesquite budget and operations, and have the opportunity to offer input as the City Council prepares for their annual budget retreat to plan the Fiscal Year 2020 budget. Watch a video of the event.
- July 30. 2019 - Comprehensive Plan: View the first public draft of the City’s new Comprehensive Plan. City staff will present key elements of the plan to solicit comments and answer questions. The Comprehensive Plan is the long-term vision used by your City Council and decision makers to inform decisions on growth, development and revitalization of the city. - March 6, 2018 - Neighborhood Vitality: Attendees can discuss issues facing Mesquite neighborhoods and learn about opportunities to become involved to help make a difference in the community. Watch a video of the event. View the presentation.
- July 24, 2018 - City Budget: Attendees can learn about the City of Mesquite budget and operations, and have the opportunity to offer input as the City Council prepares for their annual budget retreat to plan the Fiscal Year 2019 budget. - October 30, 2018 - Comprehensive Plan: Attendees will have the opportunity to provide input on a new Comprehensive Plan for Mesquite.
2017 Town Hall Tuesdays
- January 31, 2017 - Solid Waste: The Solid Waste Division will answer questions about the various services they provide and will offer helpful tips on using the Mesquite Trash and Recycling App as well as the Waste Wizard program. Watch a video of the event. View the presentation.
- March 28, 2017 - Traffic Safety: The Police Department and the Public Works Department will share a variety of traffic safety initiatives being implemented to combat speeding and other traffic related topics. Watch a video of the event. View the presentation.

- July 25, 2017 - Budget: The City of Mesquite’s fiscal year begins October 1. This program will provide an opportunity to learn about the proposed budget as well as the new services and programs planned for 2018. - August 29, 2017 - How Do I: Learn how to connect with the City of Mesquite, report service issues and become more involved in the community. Watch a video of the event. View the presentation.
- October 24, 2017 - Public Safety: Members of the Mesquite Fire Department will offer an array of information about the department and fire prevention, plus each attendee will receive a free American Red Cross emergency kit while supplies last.
