Mesquite, TX - January 23, 2019 - Sign up to take the plunge or donate to the Mesquite Polar Plunge and enjoy free breakfast, hot chocolate, a costume contest, great music and more, while watching participates, including Mayor Stan Pickett, plunge into the icy water at City Lake Aquatic Center, 200 Parkview St., in Mesquite.  The event will be held on Saturday, February 2, and benefits Special Olympics Texas. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. or register in advance at https://bit.ly/2ERh310. The plunge begins at 10 a.m. Raise a minimum of $60 in donations ($30 if you’re under age 18) from friends, family and co-workers in exchange for plunging into icy cold waters. Plungers earn awards in three categories: Top Fundraising Plunger, Top Fundraising Team and Best Costume.
