There may be no better way to celebrate spring than with a picnic. The Citywide Council Picnic takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at City Lake Park Pavillion. Residents from all districts in the City are invited to the gathering, which will feature family-friendly activities, as well as the opportunity to meet Councilmembers, City staff and your neighbors. In partnership with the Hispanic Forum of Mesquite, the City presents the annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration on May 2. On that day, hundreds of volunteers convene at the Town East Mall parking lot marquee at 8:00 a.m. to pick up their tools, and then get to work for a day cleaning up Mesquite with friends.
