There are so many fun events in Mesquite this spring. A time-honored tradition in Mesquite—Rodeo Day is coming—on Saturday, March 28. The 68th Annual Rodeo Parade starts at 10 a.m. on South Bryan-Beltline Road at Newsom Road and runs through Downtown Mesquite. Details at www.cityofmesquite.com/RodeoParade. Also that day, the Downtown Mesquite Market launches for another year, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at Front Street Station. In a special Rodeo Day edition, activities include a photo opportunity with Western-themed props, Western music, entertainment, and more. Visit www.DowntownMesquiteTX.com.

There may be no better way to celebrate spring than with a picnic. The Citywide Council Picnic takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at City Lake Park Pavillion. Residents from all districts in the City are invited to the gathering, which will feature family-friendly activities, as well as the opportunity to meet Councilmembers, City staff and your neighbors.
