Mesquite, TX – June 2, 2025 – In celebration of National Trails Day, Mesquite Parks and Recreation invites families to lace up their walking shoes and head to Valley Creek Park for a morning of fun and fitness.
The Walking for Wellness event takes place on Saturday, June 7 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Valley Creek Park, 2482 Pioneer Road.
As part of Mayor Dan Alemán’s Get Fit Mesquite initiative, this free event is designed to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage residents to enjoy the natural beauty of Mesquite’s parks and trails. Walkers of all ages and their pets are welcome to participate.
The Walking for Wellness event features a variety of engaging trail challenges that test fitness ability. The more laps completed, the more prizes participants can earn, while supplies last.
A pet and participant-friendly water station will be available to help everyone stay cool and hydrated throughout the event. Comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses are recommended for added comfort and sun protection. To learn more about Walking for Wellness, visit www.cityofmesquite.com/WalkingforWellness.
