Workshops, events planned to celebrate Small Business Week

Mesquite will celebrate National Small Business Week, May 4-10, with workshops and activities for those interested in growing or starting a business.

A highlight of the week will be Entrepreneurs Day on May 7. The free event will feature a series of 20-minute concurrent, repeating roundtable sessions on topics including:

  • Funding Your Dream
  • Marketing on a Budget
  • Legal Essentials
  • Navigating Taxes and Financial Management
  • Tech Tools & AI for Small Business
  • Leasing Like a Pro
  • Blueprint for Success: Business Planning Essentials
  • Mesquite 101: Permits, Zoning & City Regulations

Entrepreneurs Day also will include a panel discussion with experienced small business owners and a networking lounge.

Mesquite’s Small Business Week activities at a glance:

  • National Small Business Week proclamation at 6:50 p.m. on May 5 at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave.
  • Mesquite ISD Pitch Day at 5:30 p.m. on May 6 at the MISD K. David Belt Professional Development Center, 3819 Towne Crossing Blvd.
  • Entrepreneurs Day from 4-8 p.m. on May 7 at Flourish Events, 316 W College St.
  • Young Professionals Mixer at 5 p.m. on May 8 at Alejandro’s, 117 W. Main St. Attendees should be age 21 to 40 to attend and must live or work in Mesquite.
  • Small Business Quick Pitch at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9, at BrassOlea Studios, 309 N. Galloway Ave. Appointment based and limited to 20.
  • Downtown Mesquite Farmers Market Small Business Day at 9 a.m. on May 10, at Front Street Station, 100 W. Front St.
