Storm Debris Update, June 27

Home Posted on June 27, 2024 | Last Updated on June 27, 2024

Crews are moving into the southern part of Mesquite and should complete the first citywide sweep by July 8.

The second sweep will start immediately and will go from north to south again to collect any brush that was missed or placed out after the first sweep. The second sweep should be completed by the end of July.

Many residents have placed bulk trash on the curbs, which we have not collected during the storm debris collection. Crews will begin collecting bulk trash during the second sweep. It is our hope that residential trash collection will return to normal by August 5.

We want to thank all residents for their patience while we address this historic cleanup effort. As of today, we have collected over 6,000 tons of brush.

Our crews have worked tirelessly to meet our cleanup goals. Please monitor any brush piles so that they do not block the street and do not place trash or other materials with the brush.

For more information on separating debris, please see the infographic with this post.

Residents also have the option to take vegetative debris to the City’s Convenience Center, located at 3550 Lawson Road.
