Mesquite, TX – January 4, 2022 – On Saturday, Jan. 15, the Mesquite community will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a day of celebration. Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with a parade through Downtown Mesquite hosted by the Mesquite NAACP.
Recognition of Dr. King’s achievements will continue at 1 p.m. with a community celebration, co-hosted by the City of Mesquite and the Mesquite NAACP at the Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway Avenue. The event will include speeches and performances by local church choirs and Mesquite ISD student groups.
