635 East Project Updates

There are several closures for the 635 East Project that will affect Mesquite drivers from January 5 to January 10. To learn more about closures for the 635 East Project, visit 635east.com. To sign up for text alerts, send the message "635 East" to 31996.

Daytime closures include:

  • Various lanes along eastbound and westbound Oates Drive at I-635 will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.  
  • Various lanes along northbound and southbound Galloway Avenue at I-635 will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. 
  • Various lanes along the westbound I-30 frontage road between I-635 and Morgan Drive will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. 
  • The right lane along southbound Galloway Avenue at I-30 will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.  
  • The right-turn lane of the eastbound I-30 frontage road at Galloway Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.  

Overnight Closures include:

  • Various lanes along both directions of I-635 between U.S. 75 and I-30 will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Sunday, Jan. 10 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day.
  • Various lanes along eastbound and westbound I-30 between Gus Thomasson Road and Northwest Drive will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Sunday, Jan. 10 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day.
  • The southbound I-635 direct connector to westbound I-30 (Exit 8A) will be closed on Monday, Jan. 4 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Drivers will be detoured to exit at Town East Boulevard (Exit 7B) to access the U-turn to northbound I-635.  From there, drivers will use the exit to westbound I-30.  
  • The entrance ramp to northbound I-635 from Town East Boulevard will be closed on Monday, Jan. 4 and Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  
    • Eastbound Town East Boulevard traffic will continue on Town East Boulevard, turn right on Towne Centre Drive and continue to the northbound I-635 frontage road to access northbound I-635.  
    • Westbound Town East Boulevard traffic will turn left on the southbound I-635 frontage road and continue to Towne Centre Drive, using the U-turn at Towne Centre Drive to continue onto the northbound I-635 frontage road to access the entrance to northbound I-635.  
  • Various lanes along eastbound Northwest Highway at I-635 will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.  
  • The entrance ramp to westbound I-635 from Northwest Highway will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Drivers will be detoured to take the eastbound I-635 entrance at Northwest Highway and continue to the exit at Centerville Road (Exit 11A).  Drivers will then turn left onto Centerville Road and turn left onto the westbound I-635 frontage road to access the entrance to westbound I-635.
  • The eastbound I-30 direct connector to southbound I-635 (Exit 56C) will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Drivers will exit to northbound I-635 from eastbound I-30 (Exit 56B).  Once on northbound I-635, drivers will exit at Oates Drive to access the entrance ramp to southbound I-635.  For more details, click the map below to enlarge. 
  • The southbound I-635 direct connector to eastbound I-30 (Exit 8B) will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Southbound traffic will use the exit to Town East Boulevard (Exit 7B) to access the U-turn to northbound I-635 that will allow drivers to exit toward eastbound I-30.  
  • The northbound I-635 direct connector to eastbound I-30 (Exit 8B) will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 5 and Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Drivers will continue north along I-635 and take the exit to Oates Drive (Exit 9A) as a detour, accessing the entrance ramp to southbound I-635 and eventually taking the exit to eastbound I-30. 
  • The eastbound I-30 frontage road connection to southbound I-635 frontage road will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 7 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Drivers will turn right on to Town Crossing Boulevard and continue to Town East Boulevard.  
  • The exit to Town East Boulevard from the westbound I-30 direct connector to southbound I-635 will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 7 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Drivers will continue on southbound I-635 and exit to Towne Centre Boulevard, using the U-turn to access the northbound I-635 frontage road toward Town East.  
  • The southbound I-635 exit ramp to Town East Boulevard (Exit 7B) will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 7 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.  Southbound I-635 traffic will use the exit at Towne Centre Drive (Exit 7A),  to access the U-turn and entrance ramp to northbound I-635 to head back to Town East Boulevard.
