Mesquite, TX – December 10, 2019 – A City of Mesquite employee received a special surprise this holiday season while she was at work. Army Sgt. Matthew Taylor returned home on Dec. 9 and surprised his wife, Amanda Taylor, who works in our Information Technology Department.

Sgt. Taylor was deployed in February when their daughter, Lily, was just three-weeks-old. He was serving in the Middle East and was promoted to sergeant, so now he will be home for good, just in time for the holidays. Sgt. Taylor has served in the Army Reserves for eight years. This was his second deployment working as a Medical Equipment repairer overseas.

Welcome home Sgt. Taylor and thank you for your service!
