Mesquite, TX – April 30, 2019 – The City of Mesquite Municipal Court was honored with a 2019 Municipal Traffic Safety Initiatives Traffic Safety Award. Presented by the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center (TMCEC), the award recognizes municipalities that have made outstanding contributions to increase traffic safety by preventing impaired driving in their communities.
“We are humbled once again to receive this award,” said Municipal Court Judge Stephen Crane. “On behalf of the Mesquite Municipal Court, I want to thank the Court Clerks and the City Marshals for establishing a legacy of excellence by receiving three winning awards and one honorable mention since first participating four years ago. Improving traffic safety is a community effort, and we are honored to serve the Mesquite community.”
The Mesquite Municipal Court expanded its community outreach during National Night Out, the statewide Municipal Court Week, and a four-week commitment in April, which is Alcohol Awareness month. These all were successful endeavors in demonstrating the perils of drinking and driving to the Mesquite community.
