Mesquite, TX – January 24, 2019 – Mesquite honored four City employees with Real. Texas. Service. Champion awards during the City Council meeting on Jan. 22. The Real. Texas. Service. Champions program celebrates employees who provide exemplary customer service and achieve accomplishments that merit special recognition.
The following employees were recognized: Police Officer Roye Long, Human Resources Specialist Carla McKinnon, Residential Solid Waste Crew Chief Trae Canfield, and Printing and Postal Services Supervisor Monica Thompson. The program allows supervisors to nominate service-oriented employees, and awards are presented four times each year. Award winners receive a one-time addition of eight hours of vacation time or leave equivalent to one full shift; special recognition at a City Council meeting; an award certificate; and a professional photograph from the City’s production studio to be displayed for three months in the lobby of the Municipal Center, 1515 N. Galloway Ave.
