The City of Mesquite has hired Aleecia Yesh as the new Animal Services Manager.
Yesh, who started on Mar. 23, came to Mesquite with more than 10 years of progressive experience in animal control, public safety operations, staff supervision and regulatory compliance.
Most recently, Yesh served as the Field Supervisor of Animal Services for the City of Grand Prairie. Her accomplishments there include coordinating complex investigations, as well as ensuring humane animal care and regulatory compliance. Before that, she worked for a number of years in the field as an Animal Control Officer, enforcing animal welfare and public safety ordinances.
Originally from Michigan, Yesh earned an associate’s degree in applied science from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. In 2014, Yesh and her family relocated to Texas, which has since become home. She and her husband have a daughter, who’s a senior in high school. Yesh’s hobbies reflect her adventurous spirit, and include drawing, hiking and motorcycling. An avid animal lover, she often takes her dogs hiking, and one of her cats not only hikes, but also accompanies Yesh on her motorcycle rides as well.
