City Manager's Update, May 30 at 5 p.m.

We understand this storm has affected our residents in many ways with damage and loss of power. The City is working diligently to address debris and limb removal. We are monitoring ONCOR's efforts to restore power. We want to remind everyone that safety is a priority and to be aware of broken branches and downed power lines. Please pile debris by your curb and crews will continue to collect.

We appreciate your patience as debris removal and clean up will take several weeks. This is the most widespread storm we have experienced in 30 years. Crews are working as quickly as possible to clear trash and debris. Your help is appreciated by separating limbs from other materials and placing household trash in your regular collection location. If you have damage to your home, we encourage you to reach out to your insurance provider.

I want to commend our City staff for a fast response to clear streets on Tuesday and their response to emergencies during this devastating storm. We will continue to work around the clock to ensure services return to normal as soon as possible.
