The past few days of severe winter weather have made a significant impact on our community. Businesses and schools were closed and brought our city to a standstill. Throughout the storm however, our City staff continued to provide services and address the impacts of the storm. I want to express my appreciation to our entire City organization for being ready for the storm. Crews were out 24 hours a day sanding roadways and clearing downed trees. Utilities crews were responding to broken pipe and backed up sewer calls. Parks staff were clearing ice to provide access to all city buildings. Our recreation staff opened centers for child care and warming centers. Our Police and Fire Departments worked in the freezing weather responding to accidents and other emergencies. And while some services were suspended, our City staff kept offices open and monitored the needs of our citizens.
Our community should be very proud of the dedication shown these past few days. We have great employees working to serve our community.
