Mesquite, TX – October 22, 2021 – Tuesday, Oct. 19 was Millie Arnold Day in the City of Mesquite. Millie was presented with a proclamation thanking her for her efforts to make Mesquite a safer, more welcoming community for its residents and for setting a legacy of love and caring for generations to follow.

WHEREAS, Millie Arnold has been a fixture in the Mesquite, Texas community for decades; and
WHEREAS, Millie Arnold has lived in Mesquite since 1958 and graduated from Mesquite High School; and
WHEREAS, Millie Arnold has been involved in the Mesquite community by being an active member of the Mesquite Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association and in neighborhood watch groups as well as National Night activities; and
WHEREAS, Millie Arnold has served on the board of the Historic Mesquite, Inc., participated in activities at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and as a guest reader to children at Motley Elementary School as well as a member of Mesquite Elks Lodge No. 2404.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bruce Archer, Mayor of the City of Mesquite, do hereby proclaim October 19, 2021, as:

in the City of Mesquite and encourage citizens to thank her for her efforts to make Mesquite a safer, more welcoming community for its residents and has set a legacy of love and caring for generations to follow.
