Mesquite, TX – September 14, 2021 – The City of Mesquite will start using a new volunteer software called Better Impact that will assist in volunteer recruitment through onboarding and training as well as volunteer coordination. Initial training and learning libraries through Better Impact will be available to both administrators and existing volunteers starting this fall.
Director of Neighborhood Services Maria Martinez said, “When you give your time to the City of Mesquite, you're helping make our city a great place to live. The new volunteer software is to ensure that potential and existing volunteers are provided a more efficient approach as it provides them more time to do what the City truly appreciates and that is giving back through volunteerism.”
Better Impact streamlines ongoing communications, scheduling, reporting and will provide a more user-friendly approach by offering an online application. The software will provide opportunities for volunteer groups to stay up to date while working on projects and it will also assist in maintaining accurate volunteer profiles. There will be volunteer registration features for individual and group activities to assist with tracking hours. The software can also be used both on the computer or through a mobile device.
