Mesquite, TX – February 11, 2021 – As a part of its continuing Recovery Mesquite efforts to help the community move forward and onward from the impacts of the pandemic, the City of Mesquite is beginning a series of Community Health Virtual Meetings.
The monthly virtual community forums will be moderated by City Manager Cliff Keheley on various topics presented by expert guest speakers, as well as opportunities for the public to ask questions. Keheley said, “We are excited to begin this program to connect our community with resources and information to improve their health or to help others in their lives who may need support.”
On Feb. 16 at 7 p.m., Glenda Matchett, RN, BSN, MHA, the Chief Executive Officer of Dallas Regional Medical Center will share updates on COVID-19 in Mesquite and vaccine rollouts. On Feb. 23 at 7 p.m., a special edition of the monthly program will feature Lisa Fox, the Director of Nursing at Dallas Regional Medical Center to discuss American Heart Association's "Heart to Heart: Why Losing One Woman Is Too Many" campaign as a part of February’s American Heart Month to raise awareness about how one in three women are diagnosed with heart disease annually. There will also be a presentation by the Mesquite Fire department on CPR tips.
