Mesquite, TX – October 30, 2020 – The deadline for the community to participate in the City of Mesquite’s American with Disabilities Act (ADA) survey is Nov. 6. The survey results will help address any specific concerns regarding accessibility at public meetings, in public facilities and within the public rights-of-way as well as other ADA-related issues. The Spanish bilingual survey is available online at www.cityofmesquite.com/ADA and printed versions are available at City facilities. For questions or additional information on the ADA survey, please contact the City at 972-216-6409.
Chris Sanchez, Assistant to the City Manager and the City’s ADA Coordinator said, “We want the public’s input. The City is using the results of this survey to look at the bigger picture. It will help us identify obstructions and obstacles for those in our community with disabilities.”
The survey results as well as an analysis of certain City facilities will be resources for a proposed update to the City’s ADA Transition Plan, which will be presented to the City Council in order to begin a process to plan and budget for improvements that will eliminate barriers.
