Mesquite, TX – October 14, 2020 – The City of Mesquite has earned the 2020 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Award, making the City one of only 46 agencies in Texas and one of only 69 Cities in the United States and Canada to receive the award. The AEP award recognizes organizational excellence in public and non-profit procurement.
Cindy Smith, Director of Finance for the City of Mesquite said, “Earning the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for 18 years is an accomplishment to be proud of. This recognition exemplifies the commitment to excellence that the City and our Procurement team exercise daily in our service to vendors, partners, citizens, and the community.”
The continuously evolving AEP criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership attributes of the procurement function. The award is sponsored by the National Procurement Institute, along with other procurement associations including, the Texas Public Purchasing Association.
