Mesquite, TX – October 13, 2020 – The City of Mesquite has been awarded the Certificate of Distinction from the Government Treasurers’ Organization of Texas (GTOT) for maintaining a comprehensive written investment policy that fully complies with the Texas Public Funds Investment Act (PFIA). This is the fourth consecutive award the City has received from GTOT.

The Government Treasurers’ Organization of Texas (GTOT) is a state association that promotes the educational and professional development of individuals who perform the treasury function in governmental organizations and plays a key role in the enactment of legislation in the area of cash and debt management. 

The City of Mesquite’s investment policy governs the investment of all financial assets of the City with the primary objectives of safety, liquidity, yield and public trust.
