Mesquite, TX – September 23, 2020 – The City of Mesquite is updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan. Mitigation planning is a process to identify sustained actions to reduce or eliminate a long-term risk to people and their property. Being prepared for all types of natural hazards and disasters is the first step in reducing their negative effects.
The City wants residents’ input on the proposed Hazard Mitigation Plan to get a better understanding of what types of disasters concern them the most, and what they believe is needed in their neighborhood to further protect them against natural disasters.
Between Sept. 24 to Sept. 30, visit www.cityofmesquite.com/MitigationPlan to view the draft plan. and complete an online survey.
