Mesquite, TX – Sept. 4, 2020 – The City of Mesquite has received three positive West Nile-Virus reports from the Dallas County Mosquito Lab. Spraying will start tonight at 10 p.m. in the following neighborhoods: Along E. Kearney Street in and around the City of Mesquite Service Center, between Galloway Avenue and Beltline Road, Town East Boulevard and Barnes Bridge Road and Galloway Avenue and Barnes Bridge Road to Morningside Drive to Palos Verdes Lake Park.
Two sprays of the area will be completed. Spraying begins after 10 p.m. and ends no later than 5:30 a.m.
West Nile virus is currently very active in North Texas counties. Precautions should be taken if outside during the hours when mosquitos are active. Prevention is the best defense against the West Nile virus. Mesquite residents are reminded to enjoy the outdoors, and remember the four D’s:
