Mesquite, TX – August 28, 2020 – Mesquite Animal Services is seeking the public’s help to locate two dogs involved in an alleged severe bite incident this week. The dogs are described as two pit bull mixes, one as tan and skinny, and the other as black/grey with white on the chest and a large chain on its neck. The public is directed not to approach the animals as they are considered aggressive and are asked to call Mesquite Animal Services at 972-216-6283 if they see the dogs.
Maria Martinez, Director of Neighborhood Services, said, “The area is near Rutherford Elementary School. City staff canvassed the area and were unable to locate the suspected animals. We are asking the public to be aware of their surroundings in this area as they are out walking or using nearby parks and trails, and to call us if they think they have seen the dogs.”
Martinez explained that Mesquite police officers and animal control officers are continuing to canvas the area and make contact with residents of nearby neighborhoods in an effort to get leads on the suspected animals.
