Mesquite, TX – Aug. 21, 2020 – The City of Mesquite has received four positive West Nile-Virus reports from the Dallas County Mosquito Lab. Spraying will start tonight at 10 p.m. in the following neighborhoods: East of Town East Boulevard from Gus Thomasson Road to U.S. Highway 80, along E. Kearney Street across from and including the City of Mesquite Service Center.
Along both sides of Pioneer Road from Newsom Road to Sierra Drive. Falcons Lair and along both sides of Clay Mathis Road to the intersection at Mesquite Valley Road.
Two sprays of the area will be completed. Spraying begins after 10 p.m. and ends no later than 5:30 a.m.
West Nile virus is currently very active in North Texas counties. Precautions should be taken if outside during the hours when mosquitos are active. Prevention is the best defense against the West Nile virus. Mesquite residents are reminded to enjoy the outdoors, and remember the four D’s:
