Mesquite, TX – December 10, 2019 – On Dec. 7 Mesquite Mayor Bruce Archer presented a special proclamation to Diane Wright, a longtime Mesquite business owner and arts supporter. Mayor Archer proclaimed Dec. 7 as Diane Wright Day, to thank Wright for her distinguished service to the arts and the Mesquite community.
Cohn Drennan, the Mesquite Arts Center Manager, said, “The Mesquite Arts Council was honored to host Mayor Archer and past Arts Council Board Director and President Diane Wright for the City of Mesquite’s Proclamation of Diane Wright Day, December 7, 2019 at the Mesquite Arts Center. Ms. Wright has dutifully served the business and art communities, and the citizens of Mesquite for 40 years.”
Wright was raised in Mesquite and has been a property and business owner for more than 40 years. She became a member of the Mesquite Arts Council in 1984, was appointed to the Board in 1990 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2000-2002.
Wright has also served on the Board of Adjustment, Planning and Zoning Commission, the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation Board of Directors and was a community volunteer for the Mesquite Service League, serving also as its President.
