Mesquite, TX - October 24, 2019 - On Oct. 22 Mesquite Mayor Stan Pickett presented a special proclamation to the management of the Pepsi plant in Mesquite for their 50th anniversary
Here is the proclamation that was presented:
WHEREAS, PepsiCo opened its Mesquite doors at its present location in October 1969 and is the largest North American bottling facility producing over one billion cases of prominent brands such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Aquafina; and
WHEREAS, PepsiCo has undergone six expansions at the Mesquite facility, and over the past four years PepsiCo has invested over $150 million in infrastructure upgrades; and
WHEREAS, the original footprint of the Mesquite PepsiCo facility was 100,000 square feet – today it has grown to 450,000 square feet providing beverages to 16 states and 66 warehouses reaching north to Illinois, east to Florida and west to Nevada; and
WHEREAS, PepsiCo provides 650 jobs to the North Texas region and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, PepsiCo has been a valuable business partner in the Mesquite community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Stan Pickett, Mayor of the City of Mesquite, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, October 22, 2019, as:
PepsiCo’s 50th Anniversary Day
in the City of Mesquite, and urge Mesquite residents to join me in congratulating PepsiCo on
50 years of service and business to the community and extending best wishes for many more successful and productive years.
