Mesquite, TX – June 5, 2019 – One of the first summertime events in north Texas is Saturday, June 8 as Mesquite hosts the annual Summer Sizzle with free music, games and a fireworks show. Admission and parking are free to the Summer Sizzle that will feature the Lara Latin Band, Vinyl Stripes and Empire 6 on the main stage. The stage area is also the location to watch an array of summer fun contests highlighted by the Texas Roadhouse Rib Eating Contest.
The park will be filled with games and activities. The Kids Activity Zone hosts a variety of mechanical rides and inflatables including a zip line, mountain climber and obstacle course. All-inclusive wristbands are available for $10 and provide unlimited rides. Guests also can bring a jar of peanut butter and/or jelly for the Spread the Love campaign to receive three tickets to the Kids Activity Zone. Kids can make a variety of free make-and-take crafts and play in sand boxes while parents listen to live music from the main stage. All attendees can enjoy the free Texas-sized Yard Games scattered throughout the park and watch the mud volleyball tournament.
There will be a variety of refreshments available for purchase in the food truck yard as well as snacks for the fireworks show that starts at 10 p.m. The skies of Mesquite will illuminate with a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display set to music.
Free parking is available at Travis Williams Softball Complex, 1005 New Market Road. Additional free parking and shuttle service is available at Mesquite Memorial Stadium, 2411 Scyene Road, beginning at 4 p.m.
