Mesquite, TX – May 14, 2019 – The Mesquite City Council recognized five small Mesquite businesses during the May 6 Regular Meeting in celebration of National Small Business Week, May 5 – 11. Videos were produced highlighting each business, which included Clown Company, Porch Swing, Barbers Ink, Williams Paint and Body, and Painting with a Twist. “Small businesses are big business for Mesquite’s economy,” said Assistant Director of Economic Development Kim Buttram. “They comprise about 78 percent of Mesquite companies, and we are honored to recognize five of these entrepreneurs and their businesses.”
Certificates were also presented to the owners of each business to further demonstrate the City’s appreciation for their participation in the video features. Small business retention is one of the City Council’s goals the Small Business Week program helps stoplight the successes of locally owned businesses.
