Participate in Mesquite Police Department’s Drug Take-Back Event on April 27

Mesquite, Texas – March 28, 2019 – Mesquite Police Department (MPD) invites you to safely dispose of expired or unused medication on Drug Take-Back Day, April 27. The disposal event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MPD lobby, 777 N. Galloway Ave. Residents may bring their expired, unwanted or unused medications to the MPD lobby and deposit them for destruction.

Controlled, non-controlled and over-the-counter medication accepted. Unwanted or expired medications owned by businesses not accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in the original container.

Due to the potential hazard posed by blood borne pathogens, intravenous solutions and syringes not accepted. Illegal substances are not part of this program. Please do not place these items in the collection containers.

The program is part of a Drug Enforcement Administration initiative to bring awareness to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse. Learn more about Drug Take-Back Day at DEATakeBack.com.
