Home Posted on November 13, 2018

Mesquite, TX – November 13, 2018 – To kick off the holiday season, Mesquite’s annual Christmas in the Park celebration will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2, at Westlake Park, 601 Gross Road. The family-friendly event will feature holiday décor, community performances and kids' activities.

New this year is an expanded Winter Woodlands Village offering a variety of free Christmas crafts for children, additional holiday scenes during the hayride, and a live reindeer for children to meet.

Returning favorites include a live Nativity, story time with Mrs. Claus and free pictures with Santa for people and pets.

Both evenings will conclude with the “Here Comes Christmas” parade, featuring 10 festive lighted floats proceeding through the center of Westlake Park at 7 p.m. followed by a brief fireworks finale.

Christmas in the Park is designed to be a low-cost event for families. Entrance to the event, parking and many activities are free. However, some food and activities will have a fee. Activity wristbands are available for $10 each.
