The City of Mesquite has been notified that CodeRED, the third-party platform used for Mesquite Alerts, has been impacted by an organized cybercriminal attack. According to CodeRED, “it appears that the impacted dataset may contain contact information of CodeRed users: name, address, email addresses, phone numbers, and/or associated passwords used to create CodeRED user profiles for alerts. If the same password is used by users for other personal or business accounts, those passwords should be changed immediately.”

Because of this incident, the CodeRED enrollment link on the City’s website is temporarily unavailable. It will be restored once the system is secure and fully operational.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to follow City of Mesquite, TX and Mesquite Fire Department/Emergency Management on social media and visit the website for updates on severe weather, public safety information, and other emergency notifications.
