Dogs and their owners are invited to swim together at the City of Mesquite’s annual Doggie Splash Day. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Vanston Pool, located at 2913 Oates Dr.

Dogs can compete for prizes in the swimsuit contest, diving contest, doggie paddle race, and trick or talent contest. Dogs will have access to wading pool, lap pool and one-meter diving board.

Admission is $5 for one owner and one pet, $2 for each additional pet, and $1 for all spectators. Pet parents can skip the line and pre-register their dogs at www.cityofmesquite.com/DoggieSplashDay.

All owners will be required to show proof of current vaccination papers and must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 years and older. Aggressive or socially awkward dogs may be asked to leave.
