After consulting with Police Chief David Gill, it is our consensus to continue with the Christmas in the Park event this weekend despite the tragic loss of our friend and colleague. We understand and respect that some may not agree with that decision. But we are also empathetic to needs of the community and the desire of many to have something positive to rally around during this difficult time. We encourage the citizens of Mesquite to come together to celebrate this holiday season as a united community.
We ask that you keep the family of our fallen officer and our entire department in your prayers.
