Mesquite, TX – February 18, 2021 – Mesquite City Manager Cliff Keheley has requested the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office investigate a recent house fire on Wood Creek Drive.  

“The occupant of this house has previously made public comments about the city’s Fire Department investigators. I want this investigation to be completely transparent and provide full confidence to the resident that the investigation was not influenced by any past statements,” stated Keheley.

He explained, “I have full confidence that no matter the issue or the comment that our staff will conduct themselves in a professional and unbiased manner. In this situation, I feel the involvement of the Texas State Fire Marshal will alleviate any concerns held by the resident.”

The Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office will begin the investigation once ice and snow allow full access to the structure.
