Mesquite celebrates champion bull rider, Chris Villanueva

Mesquite, TX – December 20, 2019 – On Dec. 20, Mesquite Mayor Bruce Archer presented a special proclamation to Chris Villanueva for winning three consecutive Junior Bull Riding Championships at the National Rodeo Finals.

Here is the proclamation that was presented:

WHEREAS, Chris Villanueva won the 2019 National Rodeo Finals Junior Bull Riding Championship at the Junior World Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada; and

WHEREAS, this marks the third consecutive year Chris has won the title; and

WHEREAS, Chris is a student at Dr. John Horn High School where he is a member of the soccer team; and

WHEREAS, Chris is involved in the Mesquite community through his church and volunteering for the Santa Cop program; and

WHEREAS, Chris represents the community of Mesquite with pride, passion and honor.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bruce Archer, Mayor of the City of Mesquite, do hereby proclaim Friday, December 20, 2019, as:

Chris Villanueva Day

in the City of Mesquite, and further extend appreciation to Chris for demonstrating the hard working humility and selfless service that are shining examples for all Mesquite youth to follow in making our community a great place to call home.Chris Villanueva, bull riding champion and Mayor Bruce Archer
