Mesquite, TX – May 7, 2021 – Mesquite has approved Dalfen Industrial’s proposed development of two distribution buildings of 1,003,100 square feet located on East Scyene Road near Mesquite Metro Airport. As a part of this development, Dalfen will make improvements to Airport Boulevard and will purchase a 15-acre portion of City owned property located at 1900 Airport Boulevard to maximize the development of the project.
Tyler McElroy, Dalfen Industrial Director of Development & Construction, said “As one of the largest owners and operators of industrial real estate in the nation, Dalfen has developed projects in cities across the country. The City of Mesquite has been one of the most business friendly municipalities we’ve worked with to date.”
At their May 3 regular meeting, the Mesquite City Council conducted a public hearing and approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to finalize and execute a Chapter 380 Agreement with Notain Realty Limited Partnership for the major development. Notain Realty is Dalfen’s entity constructing this property.
City Manager Cliff Keheley said, “Dalfen Industrial has a significant track record of successful developments in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and throughout the country. They recently completed the two distribution facilities in Mesquite called the East Dallas Logistics Center. We are thrilled that they have chosen again to invest in our community.”
The agreement includes the developer’s obligation to increase the height of a weather radar tower located at the Mesquite Airport to compensate for the elevation of the new buildings. The city will support this development by rebating impact fees associated with the development as each building is constructed, granting the cost of the 15-acre portion of city property needed by the developer.
