Chemical Waste Disposal

Mesquite is part of a group of cities that make up the Dallas County Household Hazardous Waste Network. A combination of grant funding and contributions from participating cities allowed the network to construct a permanent home chemical collection center, which is now available for residents to drop off home chemicals for reuse and/or disposal on a year round basis.

The permanent facility features evening and weekend hours and is available to residents of all network cities - including Mesquite - at no charge. A valid drivers license and a current utility bill are required as proof of residency. The facility does not accept commercially generated chemicals, radioactive materials or medical waste. Finding the Chemical Collection Center
The Home Chemical Collection Center is located at 11234 Plano Rd., one mile north of 635, between Miller Rd. and Forest Ln.

The building is easily identified by its white color and bright turquoise trim. The entrance to the collection area is the first driveway north of the railroad tracks on the east side of the street. (Do not turn into the driveway closest to the building; it is the exit gate.) View a map and get driving directions
