City Council

    City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month and the fourth Monday in September. The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through “Notify Me” on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda has been posted. For additional information, please call the City Secretary's Office at 972-216-6244.

    Is your child learning to read? At Reading Buddies, children partner with a volunteer to read and play games together. The “Reading Buddies” program is held every Tuesday from 4:30 – 5:00 p.m. Children from Preschool through 2nd grade will partner with a teenage volunteer as they spend 30 minutes reading, playing games, and doing other activities. Teens who are interested in being a Reading Buddy should contact the Main Library at 972-216-6220 to ask about volunteering.

  1. Sounds in the Square - Backhand Sally

    September 24, 2016, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Heritage Square - Historic Downtown Mesquite

    Delight in the live music of Backhand Sally on Saturday, September 24 during Sounds in the Square. Sounds in the Square, a new concert series in Heritage Square is planned during September, October and November. The bands will showcase a variety of musical genres. Sounds in the Square will be held on the same Saturdays as the Mesquite Marketplace to extend the energy in the area by offering live music and food at the conclusion of the marketplace activities. The concerts will be held from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. in Heritage Square, 120 West Main Street, in historic downtown Mesquite.
