    The BB&T Amazing Technicolor 5K will be held at the Mesquite Convention Center on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Adult Registration is $30 prior to Race Day.   3. Drug Take Back Event

    October 22, 2016, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Mesquite Police Department Lobby

    On Saturday, October 22, the Mesquite Police Department (MPD) will take part in a nationwide effort to allow residents to dispose of potentially dangerous controlled substances from their medicine cabinets. The program will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the MPD lobby located at 777 N. Galloway Avenue. Residents may bring their expired, unwanted or unused medications and deposit them for destruction. This is a voluntary program and allows people to anonymously dispose of these medications safely. Controlled, non-controlled and over the counter medication will be collected. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in the original container. Intravenous solutions, injectables, and syringes will NOT be accepted due to the potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens. Illegal substances are not part of this program and should not be placed in the collection containers.

  1. Sounds in the Square - Josh Knight

    October 22, 2016, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Heritage Square - Historic Downtown Mesquite

    Delight in the live music of Josh Knight on Saturday, Octoboer 22 during Sounds in the Square. Sounds in the Square, a new concert series in Heritage Square is planned during September, October and November. The bands will showcase a variety of musical genres. Sounds in the Square will be held on the same Saturdays as the Mesquite Marketplace to extend the energy in the area by offering live music and food at the conclusion of the marketplace activities. The concerts will be held from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. in Heritage Square, 120 West Main Street, in historic downtown Mesquite. A handful of vendors from the Marketplace will also be extending their stay to participate in the event. Visit for more information.
