  2. Kevin Owens: Extraordinary Vertical

    Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as they present MISD teacher Kevin Owens. Exhibiting a body of work that centers around “restoration” as it reflects to the current events of the ongoing turmoil resurfacing in our society. Using traditional painting techniques, drawing media and gestalt principles the work looks into the destructive nature of what it’s doing to our society on a subconscious level.

  3. Tote-and Go: Canvas Creations

    Do you have a child that loves to paint? Well if you do, then our Just For Kids: Canvas Creations event is just for you! On June 24, you will be able to swing by the Mesquite Arts Center as we hand out (20) Art Kits. This event is 1 of 3 that will happen this summer, and the image will be “Wildflowers" image. All materials will be provided by the Mesquite Arts Council. So if you have a child ages 3-8 years old, register today at eguajardo@cityofmesquite.com. This event is FREE for the first 20 people who register. Please Note: We will set-up a table in the parking lot for you to drive by and pick up. This will be a contact less delivery for those who are registered.

  4. MAC Doodles: Luchadores

    Please join us on Thursday, July 9 for our virtual class "MAC Doodles". This week we will doodle images inspired by the book "Nino, Wrestles the World" by Yuyi Morales! This class features "How To" doodle videos for the whole family + a special children's read-a-long. Gather with your pencil, pen and paper as instructor Erica Guajardo shows you how to create a variety of luchadores that are great for beginners, intermediate, and expert level. This is a FREE virtual course. A link to our video will upload at 12PM on July 9.     Summer is the perfect time for getting together with friends and family! Why not gather at the Mesquite Arts Center for our weekly event which features local DFW indie bands. This year we will have concerts every Thursday of the month. On July 9, Please join us as "Paper Saints" rock the night away! This FREE family-friendly concert event is presented by the Mesquite Arts Council. Guest are encourage to practice social distancing and bring their own lawn chairs and coolers for this event. Limited seating will be available for those who want to sit at a bistro table. The Texas Department of Public Safety requires 6 feet distancing between groups and groups cannot exceed 10 persons. Celebrate safely.
