Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as they present MISD teacher Kevin Owens. Exhibiting a body of work that centers around “restoration” as it reflects to the current events of the ongoing turmoil resurfacing in our society. Using traditional painting techniques, drawing media and gestalt principles the work looks into the destructive nature of what it’s doing to our society on a subconscious level.

Dallas County Health and Human Services is opening a new mobile COVID-19 testing site in Mesquite. The testing location at Eastfield College, 3737 Motley Drive, will open on Aug. 3. It will be open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until the location has hit testing capacity for the day.

Due to overwhelming public response, the City of Mesquite has announced the deadline to purchase a brick for the Walk of Honor at the new Mesquite Veterans Memorial has been extended to 5 p.m., Thursday, August 6. This week we will doodle images inspired by the book "The King of Kindergarten" by Derrick Barnes and Illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton! This class features "How To" doodle videos for the whole family + a special children's read-a-long. Gather with your pencil, pen and paper as instructor Erica Guajardo shows you how to create a school bus, friends, and playtime. These images are great for beginners, intermediate, and expert level.

The Mesquite Championship Rodeo is back and open for business. The Mesquite Championship Rodeo is the Rodeo Capital of Texas and sanctioned by the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) - the sanctioning body of Pro Rodeo. Contestants will be coming from all over the country to compete.
