City Council to meet April 1 at City Hall


The Mesquite City Council will meet April 1 at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. The Pre-Meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. in Training Rooms A and B. The Regular Meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Meeting agendas are available at cityofmesquite.com/CouncilAgenda. The City broadcasts meetings at cityofmesquite.com/WatchCouncilMeetings and via Facebook Live.

City Council celebrates 20 years of Sharing Life Community Outreach


Sharing Life Community Outreach hosted its Founder’s Day event on March 23. Mayor Stan Pickett presented a proclamation to recognize the nonprofit organization for 20 years of supporting families in need with various programs. He also honored Executive Director Teresa Jackson with the announcement that the City will rename Honorary Boulevard “Teresa Jackson Rd” for the month of May.

The 16th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is May 2. The program and breakfast begin at 7 a.m. at Family Cathedral, 790 Windbell Circle. The free event provides a unique opportunity for community leaders and residents to come together in fellowship on the National Day of Prayer. To register, visit cityofmesquite.com/Breakfast.



Special Election May 4 - Proposition A

Special Election is May 4


The City will hold a special election May 4. Early voting is April 22-30. The election is to determine the future use of 171 acres of undeveloped property owned by the City, which is located entirely within the city limits of Balch Springs.
