    With an investigative eye, Mr. Harris creates life-sized (or larger) photo-realistic drawings of subjects laboriously executed with graphite on Mylar. He chooses common everyday people, saddles, skulls, vegetables, or utilitarian objects that he finds intriguing in their complexity.

On April 23 at 7 PM on the Northlawn we are excited to announce that "PriMadonna" will be in attendance with their amazing Madonna performance. This is a FREE family and blanket-friendly event. ---WEATHER--- April sometimes brings rain. In the case of bad weather, we will cancel this event and reschedule this band for a later time during our Courtyard Concert Series. This is a summer concert series in our outdoor courtyard located inside the Mesquite Arts Center. This year Arbor Day is on April 30. Due to COVID-19, children DO NOT need to be present. All visitors must wear a mask.

    City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through the “Mesquite Messenger” function on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda is posted.

    Mesquite receives CDBG funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funds are available to eligible non-profits, city departments and neighborhood organizations. Applications will be available online at www.cityofmesquite.com/CDBG beginning Friday, March 19. Applicants may also request a copy of the application by contacting the CDBG Coordinator, Ruby Butler, at 972-216-6425 or RButler@cityofmesquite.com. The deadline for applications is Friday, April 23 by 5 p.m.

    The City of Mesquite is now accepting applications for the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP)! Eligible applicants must live in Mesquite, be between the ages of 15-17, and meet Federal income requirements. To apply please complete and submit the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Application and required documents. The 2021 Session will take place June 11 - July 25, 2021.     Come out and join hundreds of volunteers as we work to clean up Mesquite! Trash Bash is a wonderful opportunity for families, neighbors, and groups to get outside and participate in a community litter cleanup event. Volunteers will be provided trash grabbers, safety vests, disposable gloves, and trash bags. Volunteers will dispose of trash bags and supplies at assigned locations. Pre-registration required so event organizers are able to coordinate supplies and cleanup site locations.
