    In celebration of National Be Someone Day, Mesquite congregations throughout the city will join together on Sunday, July 22, for a special day of giving. National Be Someone Day challenges each of us to take ten seconds to make a difference. In response, faith leaders throughout Mesquite are encouraging their congregations to bring a jar of peanut butter and/or jelly to church on July 22 to support the City of Mesquite's Spread the Love campaign. All donations go to the two food pantries in Mesquite, Sharing Life Community Outreach and Mesquite Social Services, for distribution. Join the City of Mesquite, Mesquite Social Services and Sharing Life Community Outreach on Sunday, July 29, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Snuffer's in Mesquite and help support the Spread the Love campaign. Print off the flyer at www.cityofmesquite.com/Snuffers, present it to your server and a percentage of your meal's cost will be donated to the Spread the Love campaign. The Spread the Love campaign accepts donations of peanut butter and jelly as well as financial contributions during the spring and summer months to help feed children in food insecure families during the summer when free or reduced school lunches are unavailable. All donations go to the two food pantries in Mesquite, Sharing Life Community Outreach and Mesquite Social Services, for distribution.   6. Preschool Story Time

    There is a mix of songs, rhymes, finger plays, and books. However, there is a greater emphasis on books, on longer stories with more challenging content, and on independent participation by the kids. Children will be introduced to group participation, and caregivers will learn some songs and rhymes to share with their children at home. This program is an opportunity for children to mature socially and developmentally in preparation for school. Sounds, letter recognition, and new words that will help them grow into pre-readers all while having fun. Program length: approx. 30 minutes. This program is recommended for children 3 to 5 years old.
