    City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through the “Mesquite Messenger/Notify Me” function on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda is posted.

    Public education meeting to provide the community an opportunity to learn more about the new single member district structure of the City Council. The meeting will offer information on the new single member district boundaries, insight into serving on City Council, an understanding of the Council-Manager form of government and the City Council agenda process as well as details on how City Council meetings are conducted. There will also be presentations on the City’s budget and instructions for those interested in filing for their candidacy to serve on the City Council. The City’s public education program will also include access to maps of the new single member districts, voter registration opportunities and more.
