Properly dispose of fats, oils and grease this Thanksgiving

Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) is the residue left over from cooking meats, butter, lard, food scraps, sauces, dressings, dairy products and cooking oil. Don’t pour your holiday cooking grease down the drain. FOG and debris can build up in your pipes and cause backups in both private and the City-maintained sewer system. To avoid expensive plumbing repairs, remember to scrape or wipe cooled grease or fat from all cookware and place in the trash. Learn more at www.cityofmesquite.com/utilities.
