Protect the 4 P's

With cold temperatures strike North Texas, it’s time to remember the 4 P's of Winter Preparedness:

  • People: Check on neighbors, friends and family to ensure they are staying warm and safe.
  • Pets: Bring pets indoors or provide adequate shelter and warmth if they absolutely must stay outside.
  • Plants: Cover outdoor plants or bring them inside.
  • Pipes: Insulate exposed pipes to prevent freezing and disconnect outdoor hoses. Leave indoor faucets at a drip.

Also, never leave space heaters unattended. Never run generators indoors or sit in a running vehicle inside a garage, as carbon monoxide can be deadly.
