City Council discusses redistricting plans

 

During the Nov. 19 Pre-Meeting and Regular Meeting, the City Council received a report and presentation on illustrative redistricting plans. A public hearing also took place during the Regular Meeting. Watch the Pre-Meeting discussion. Watch the Public Hearing and discussion.
 


Iron Horse Village development

City Council approves Iron Horse Village development plans

During the Nov. 19 Regular Meeting, the City Council approved the Iron Horse Village development project. The development includes construction of residential and commercial improvements of more than 50 acres near the Mesquite Championship Rodeo Arena. The project features a variety of housing that includes villas and townhomes as well as new restaurants and retail stores.

Christmas on the Square 2018

Christmas on the Square is Nov. 27

Bring your family and friends to Mesquite’s annual tree lighting celebration Nov. 27. The fun takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Square, 223 W. Davis St. in Downtown Mesquite. The lighting of the tree begins at approximately 6:15 p.m. Enjoy free children’s craft activities, live music, a performance by Stage Door Dancers, cookies and hot cocoa. Food will be available for purchase from Pap’s Barbecue. Make sure to bring your camera for photos with Santa.

Mesquite Police Department Santa Cop Toy Program

Donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Santa Cop Toy Program

The Mesquite Police Department (MPD) is accepting donations for its Santa Cop Toy Program through Dec. 12. The annual toy drive assists disadvantaged children and families served by Mesquite Independent School District during the Christmas season. Make the holiday brighter for a local child by dropping off new, unwrapped toys at the MPD lobby, 777 N. Galloway Ave. Learn more about the program at cityofmesquite.com/SantaCop.
