Celebrate Black History MonthThroughout February, the City of Mesquite will host events, programs, and activities in recognition of Black History Month. HMI presents Time Travel Tuesdays, a social media series highlighting notable Black residents. Programs are also offered at the Main Library all month long, including one about Black inventors. The Arts Center offers Black History Month–themed youth art kits while supplies last. Pothole Blitz and Road Report UpdateThe City of Mesquite Streets Division recently completed repairs and an asphalt overlay on Calle Hanby, improving roadway conditions for residents and drivers. Similar repairs and an asphalt overlay on Calle Williams are underway and nearing completion. Also, crews repaired 80 potholes during the most recent Pothole Blitz. 9th Annual Neighborhood SummitThe City will host the 9th Annual Neighborhood Summit on Feb. 28 at the Cliff Keheley Community Room in the Mesquite Government Center located at 500 S. Galloway Avenue. Events at the Mesquite Arts CenterFebruary brings live theatre and a festive winter celebration to the Mesquite Arts Center. The Mesquite Arts Theatre presents the stage adaptation of “Murder on the Orient Express,” performing weekends through Feb. 22.
