City closures and Memorial Day ServiceAll City offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. Commercial and Residential trash will be collected. Commercial recycling will also be collected, but residential recycling will not be collected. Click here for details on future holiday closures. Spread the Love this summerResidents are invited to donate jars of peanut butter and jelly during the annual Spread the Love collection campaign, which runs through Labor Day (Sept. 1). The City also is calling for donations of alternative butters that are safe for kids with nut allergies, such as sunflower seed butter or pumpkin seed butter. Spread the Love donation sites are located at the Mesquite Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.; the North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Dr.; Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Over the past 21 years, the annual day of service has helped thousands of Mesquite homeowners who need assistance with exterior house or yard projects.
